How we count
Every property our clients settle on: homes, apartments and commercial premises, including small commercial units and units in buildings leased to a commercial operator. It counts once the property has settled in our client's name; for a house and land package, that's when the land settles, even if the build is still under way.
Counted back from the date at the top of the page. The figures refresh every day from our client records. The monthly chart uses whole calendar months, so its total can differ slightly.
Contracts exchanged and waiting for settlement. They join the totals once they settle.
Purchases are grouped by suburb, property type and month. Where a suburb had only a few in a quarter, we show the quarter; where it had just one, we show only the state. Bulk purchases in a single building count in every total but aren't listed or shown on the map.
Sale prices are public records. Together with a suburb and a month, a price could lead to a client's home, so recent settlements never show one.
Purchases by our directors and our team, past and present, their families and our business partners are left out of every live figure on this page.
